Transfer Students Orientation Schedule

Students who are transferring from another academic institution, such as a community college or another university, will attend New Student Orientation for either a one-day program or a one-and-a-half day program. You will become acclimated to the academic life on campus by meeting with your advisor and checking out the many different schools and majors Barry University has to offer. Once familiar with the academic program of choice, you will finalize your class schedule for the Fall.
Orientation is only mandatory for transfer students who have fewer than 30 college credits. If you have more than 30 credits, then orientation is optional, but strongly suggested.
There are no on-campus accommodations during the one-day program.

Orientation I June 11, 2012
Specially designed one-day orientation program for transfer students in the local South Florida Area.
- 7:00am-8:00am – Orientation Check-in
- 8:00am – Meet with Orientation Leaders
- 8:30am – Mandatory Commuter Meeting
- 9:00am – President’s Welcome and New Student Orientation programs begin
Orientation II June 12, 2012
Specially designed one-day orientation program transfer students in the local South Florida Area.

Orientation III June 27-28, 2012
One-and-a-half day orientation program for transfer students who are coming from outside of South Florida, or out-of-state. (Optional – Local students may attend this in place of Orientation I & II if they would like to take part in the additional activities during Orientation III)
- June 27
- 10:00am – 4:00pm: Orientation check-in (Students will check-in for their on-campus room accommodations for orientation)
- Evening Social Activities
- June 28
- New Student Orientation, and Advising and Registration
- Optional Evening Social Programs (Can leave by 6:00pm if you choose not to attend social programs)
