Antonio Pita has served as Assistant Professor and Assistant Academic Coordinator of Information Technology (IT) with Barry University’s School of Professional And Career Education since 2000. Prior to that, he was a Senior Programmer Analyst and Network Specialist with the University of Miami’s medical division. He also owned and operated two education services corporations, and has lectured at University of Miami and Miami-Dade College. He is a long-standing member of the highly regarded business and academic honor societies of Beta Gamma Sigma and Phi Kappa Phi. His teaching and research interests include computer networking, computer security, and e-learning.
Mr. Pita earned an Educational Specialist degree in Computing Technology in Education and has achieved PhD doctoral candidacy at Nova Southeastern University’s School of Computer and Information Sciences. He holds a Master of Science in Computer Information Systems from University of Miami’s School of Business, a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management Information Systems from Florida International University’s School of Business, and an AA in Business Data Processing from Miami-Dade College. In addition to his certifications in telecommunications and technical training, he possesses numerous professional IT certifications from Microsoft and CompTIA that support the computer courses he teaches and volunteer consulting he conducts from time to time.
