American Council On Education Military Training Coursework


American Council on Education ACE-Military credit refers to military training courses recommended for credit in the American Council on Education's (ACE) Military Guide The Army, Marine Corps, and Navy are now using a Joint Services Transcript (JST), and the Coast Guard is in transition. AARTS, SMART, and CGI have been merged under a single name and program, which has been supported by DANTES. The website is Exhibit VIII includes the first page of two samples of Joint Services Transcripts: a US Army Military/ACE transcript and a US Navy transcript.

Category: Nontraditional transfer credit.

Type Of Credit Awarded:

Upper/lower level elective credit or distribution credit (only if a course recommendation awards at least two semester hours of credit, and the title and course description match).

Maximum Allowable Credit:

ACE MILITARY credit is included in the maximum allowance of ninety (90) credits from all transfer sources.


All ACE MILITARY credit recommendations will be accepted in transfer with the exception of those credits that fall in the vocational certificate category. Also, training must have been completed at a location specified on the evaluation guide, during the listed exhibit dates and for approximately the same length of time. Credit will not be awarded for rank or jobs held while in the military.
