Sussman, Stephen

Dr. Stephen Sussman is an Assistant Professor of Public Administration and Academic Coordinator at Barry University’s School of Adult and Continuing Education where he teaches in the MPA and BPA programs. Dr. Sussman earned his MPA and Ph.D. (Political Science) from Georgia State University. In addition to publishing and presenting many conference papers, he currently serves as a peer reviewer for the Journal of Online Learning and Teaching.

In addition to his academic service, Dr. Sussman serves on the Board of Directors for Jewish Family and Children’s Services, American Jewish Committee, Housing Partnership, and The Parent-Child Centers. Further, he served as Director of Research for the Economic Council of Palm Beach County. The Economic Council is a not-for-profit organization involved in the political, economic, and social processes of the region.

In 2007, Dr. Sussman was appointed to a Department of Education, Federal Rulemaking Committee as a primary negotiator for regulations relating to the General Provisions for the Title IV programs of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended. The negotiated rulemaking is to prepare proposed regulations for the student financial aid programs authorized by Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended.
