Barry University’s commitment to social justice calls us “to foster peace and non-violence, to strive for equality, to recognize the sacredness of Earth, and to engage in meaningful efforts toward social change.”

Join the university for a weeklong series of events sponsored by various departments across campus.

International Coastal Clean-Up Day

Saturday – September 16th | 11:00 am – 3:00 pm Landon Events Room

Join us for a day spent at Historic Virginia Key Beach Park and contribute to the health of our oceans by participating in a global beach clean-up effort. Register at Give Pulse. 


Eco Adventure Trip: Patch of Heaven Sanctuary

Fall Student Health and Well-being Fair

Visit resources and collaborative community partners for educational materials, services, products, and receive a FREE health screening, FREE massage session, and more. Stop by our Community Food Pantry and learn about how Barry supports your well-being.

The Peace-In is an annual series of free workshops for students, faculty, staff, and community members focusing on better understanding various threats to Peace. 

9-9:50: Threats to Peace: Attacks on Antiracism Education 

10-10:50: Threats to Peace: Attacks on LGBTQ Rights 

11-11:50: Threats to Peace: Dangerous Food Supply 

1-1:50: Threats to Peace: Attacks on Nonviolent Activism  


Deliberative Dialogues: “End of Affirmative Action Beginning of ‘DEI’ Demise?

There is growing concern that the end of race-conscious admissions practices in higher education is ushering in the end of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts on campuses nationwide. Students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community partners will explore the impact of the Supreme Court’s decision during this forum.

"Resolving our Conflicts Peacefully"

This interactive Peace Education workshop will provide an introduction to some basic conflict resolution and peacemaking skills that are essential to promoting a culture of peace at home, on campus, and in the wider community. 


Conscious Carnival

Release, Relax and Relate as we seek peace and create positive energy. Free food, interactive booths, and activities! Enjoy a yoga class, meditation and singing bowls.

Join guest speaker, Dr. Paola Bernardini, alongside performances by Barry music faculty and students.

Leadership and Inclusion Conference

Saturday, September 23rd | 10:00 am – 3:00 pm | Broad Auditorium

your leadership potential, interact with peers and presenters, and develop a greater understanding of how you can make a positive contribution in the world. The conference will feature a keynote speaker, Melqaam Shaw, and multiple breakout sessions, relevant to both established and emerging student leaders.
