Paul Becker, CPhT RPT

Paul is a PTCB Certified Pharmacy Technician. He has a total of 36 years experience as a hospital, retail and infusion pharmacy technician. He has over 6 years experience as a pharmacy technician instructor, training students to work in all pharmacy settings. His specialties are the aseptic preparation or compounding of intravenous admixtures under a laminar flow hood, including the preparation of large-volume IV's, piggybacks, hyperalimentations, chemotherapy, and the pre-filling of syringes. His experience also includes working in mail-order pharmacies, MOT pharmacies, long-term care pharmacies, and home healthcare pharmacies. His hospital experience includes working for 10 years at Parkway General Hospital (now known as Jackson North) in North Miami Beach (1973-1984) and 10 years at Palm Springs General Hospital in Hialeah, Fl. (1989-1999).

He is also thoroughly familiar with all other aspects of pharmacy, including the reading, interpretation and filling of physicians' prescriptions, computer data entry and record keeping, calculating dosages, third-party insurance billing, record-keeping, and the ordering, receiving and maintaining of stock from pharmaceutical wholesalers. He is also familiar with the screening of allergies, drug-drug and drug-food interactions, and contraindications.

Paul holds a Bachelor of Science degree from City College of the City University of New York (CCNY) with a major in Psychology.
