L to R: Dr. Jeffrey Ritter (assistant professor), Rolando Garcia Rojas, Diana D’Orazio Garcia, Scott Singer (President of SFHEF), Hugo Fernandez, and Barbara Perez (President Elect, SFHEF).

Students of the Master of Science in health service administration (MSHSA) and Master of Science in health service administration and public health (MSHSA-MPH) dual degree programs represented Barry University as they competed on Saturday, March 23 in the Annual South Florida Healthcare Executive Forum (SFHEF) Student case competition.

The competition, which is sponsored by the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), took place at Aventura Medical Center. The student team, which included Diana D’Orazio Garcia, Rolando Garcia and Hugo Fernandez, presented their selected case study before a panel of healthcare executives from local healthcare facilities. Their topic focused on physician leadership in an academic medical center as part of a large health system in Cleveland.

The students earned 2nd place in the competition, which was announced during the SFHEF event held at Memorial Medical Center on March 28. The competition was fierce, however, the student team showed poise, professionalism, and expertise. We are Barry proud of our team and thank them for their hard work and dedication.
