Pre-Pharmacy (Non-Degree
Program)
The student planning to earn a BS in Pharmacy
can take up to two years of Pre-Pharmacy at Barry University. The
curriculum in the School of Arts & Sciences, under the direction
of the Department of Physical Sciences, is made up of courses required
in the first two years by most institutions granting the BS degree
in Pharmacy.
These courses include:
- CHE 111, CHE 111L, CHE 112, CHE 112L
1 year of General Chemistry with Lab
- CHE 343, CHE 343L, CHE 344, CHE 344L
1 year of Organic Chemistry with Lab
- PHY 201, PHY 201L, PHY 202, PHY 202L
1 year of College Physics with lab
- MAT 211 Calculus I
- BIO 122 Biological Foundations
- BIO 116 Zoology
Barry’s Pre-Pharmacy program prepares the
student to take the PCAT (Pharmacy College Admission Test) and to
apply to a College of Pharmacy. The Pre-Pharmacy student is expected
to contact the school s/he plans to transfer and check on that school’s
specific requirements. 100% of our students completing the pre-pharmacy
program have been accepted into pharmacy schools. |
