Michael Funk, PA-C, MPH, DFAAPA graduated from the Nova Southeastern University Physician Assistant Program and the NSU Master of Public Health Program in 1996. He is a past president of the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants and a Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. He joined the Barry University Physician Assistant Program – St. Croix, US Virgin Islands in 2012 as Associate Director of Clinical Education and Assistant Professor.
Mr. Funk has participated in 20 medical missions to underserved areas of the world, including South and Central America and Africa and spent 5 weeks providing medical care in Biloxi, Mississippi immediately after Hurricane Katrina. He is a member of the Palm Beach County Special Medical Response Team.
Mr. Funk is a cancer survivor, an avid physical fitness enthusiast and the father of two successful adult sons.
