One hundred percent of eligible graduates placed in residency

Barry University’s School of Podiatric Medicine Class of 2015 has 100 percent of eligible students successfully placed in a residency program, after the Centralized Application Service for Podiatric Residencies (CASPR) match.

Most graduates will remain in Florida with 21 doctors starting residencies in the Sunshine state. They will carry on the Barry mission, promoting good health and well-being in the local community and help to fill the state’s urgent need for more clinicians. As dedicated podiatry residents they will receive training in such specialties as reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, advanced training in pedal conditions and secondary prevention of chronic disease.

Abiola Oki and Ralph Ramos will join Barry University’s Podiatric residency program at Mercy Hospital in Miami, under the directorship of Thomas Merrill, DPM. There they will gain exposure to forefoot, rear foot and reconstructive surgery. Graduates Dustin Constant and Amber Morra will join the Yale New Haven/DVA Healthcare system to train in comprehensive reconstructive foot and ankle surgery under the tutelage of Steven Vyce, DPM. Augusta Dunse and Daniel London will train at the University of Pittsburg Medical Center, a 1,528 bed general medical and surgical facility. There they will receive advanced training in pedal conditions and secondary prevention of chronic diseases.
