School of Podiatric Medicine’s Class of 2021 earns excellent pass rate on national exam

Barry University students in the School of Podiatric Medicine set to graduate in 2021 all passed and exceeded the national average for a crucial medical exam.

Candidates for the Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree must successfully pass several national licensing exams, including the American Podiatric Medical Licensing Examination (APMLE). APMLE consists of four parts. Part I and Part II are written exams designed to assess whether a candidate possesses the knowledge required to practice as an entry-level podiatric physician, while Part II CSPE (Clinical Skills Patient Encounter) involves clinical skills and Part III is a state board exam.

Barry’s class of 2021 had a first-time pass rate of APMLE Part 1 of 90% — four percentage points above the national average. Following the October administration of the exam, the class had a total pass rate of a truly impressive 100%. These future physicians and surgeons are on the path to successful careers. We congratulate them.
