Study-through-the-Year Option

Barry’s Study-through-the-Year Option is designed to help you pursue the MA in Practical Theology while meeting your other responsibilities. Working with your advisor, you can design a schedule that meets your program requirements and yet still gives you the flexibility you need.

In this Option, you can take classes during both the tradition fall and spring semesters as well as the winter and summer terms. During the fall and spring semesters, you will attend class once per week, generally from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. You can enroll in one to three courses per semester.  During the winter and summer terms, you will attend class daily during a two-week residency period. You can enroll in one to two courses per term. The winter and summer terms are full 14-week terms, with six-week pre-residency and post-residency periods that allow you to complete readings, written assignments, and research.

The Study-through-the-Year option allows you to complete the degree quicker and gives you a broader selection of courses.  Coursework in Hispanic/Latino Theology and Ministry, for example, is offered only during the winter and summer terms.
