Labs: College of Arts and Sciences Facilities

Your learning will be enhanced by the access provided by Barry's “smart classrooms.” Six “smart classrooms” are dedicated to the College of Arts and Sciences and are equipped with Internet access and PowerPoint computer projection systems. In addition, we use many of the other classrooms on campus.

Our 11 teaching labs are each specifically equipped for the discipline(s) taught in the lab: Biotechnology/Genetics, Cell Biology, Anatomy, Zoology, Marine Biology/Botany, Occupational Therapy/Histology, Physiology, Embryology, Microbiology, Cardiovascular Perfusion, and Histotechnology. Several of these are also “smart classrooms.”

As mentioned elsewhere, you may have the opportunity to conduct research with one of our faculty members. If selected, you will work in one of the 12 individual faculty research labs. Each faculty research lab has an adjacent faculty office.

There is one shared-equipment room, a laboratory prep room, and two greenhouses.

In addition, you will find the Student Resource Room very helpful. It is equipped with computers, printers, scanners, and resource materials on study skills, careers, graduate program or professional school options, and much more. If you are involved in the minority student research grants, you will have two additional resource rooms available.
