Students who wish to pursue physical therapy as a career may begin their academic preparation with a BS in Biology major. The BS in Biology Pre-Physical Therapy Track Program is designed specifically for Physical Therapy Assistants who wish to complete a bachelor's degree in order to go on for a master's degree in Physical Therapy.

A major requires a minimum of 40 credits including Biological Foundations, and the identified course from each of the following core areas:

1. Growth and development: Introductory Human Anatomy
2. Cellular and molecular biology: Introductory Microbiology 
3. Physiological and biochemical principles: Introduction to Human Physiology 
4. Biological theory: Seminar Students must also fulfill the following biology, chemistry, and physics requirements:

  • Electives
  • General Chemistry & Qualitative Analysis
  • Precalculus I and II
  • Introductory College Physics
