Counseling (MS) Specialization in Rehabilitation Counseling

The Rehabilitation Counseling specialization provides students with knowledge and skills for counseling the physically and mentally disabled. The Program includes coursework and clinical experiences to increase the student's understanding of counseling for various rehabilitation populations and settings.

Counseling (MS) Specialization in School Counseling

The School Counseling specialization is CACREP-accredited and approved by the Florida State Department of Education to prepare school counselors at the elementary and secondary levels and leads to Florida certification in Guidance and Counseling PK-12. This Program provides the necessary coursework to prepare students to function as a School Counselor in applied school settings, including counseling students; and consulting with teachers, administrators, and parents within the school setting.

Exceptional Student Education (BS) ESOL Endorsement

The BS degree program in Exceptional Student Education (ESE) provides a comprehensive background for education professionals who are interested in working and addressing the needs of children and youth with varying exceptionalities. This is a State Approved program that includes the English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) competencies, and which enables candidates to graduate with an ESOL endorsement in addition to their certification in ESE (grades K-12).

This degree program offers a comprehensive understanding of various exceptionalities and the acquisition of valuable inclusionary strategies to meet the unique individual needs of children in elementary, middle, and secondary schools.

Exceptional Student Education (MS) Autism Endorsement

The MS degree in ESE with an Autism Specialization is designed specifically for teachers who are already certified in ESE, but would like to work specifically with students who have been identified as having autism or one of the five autistic spectrum disorders (ASD). Upon completion of this degree specialization, graduates will be eligible to receive an endorsement in Autism Education, grades K-12.

Exceptional Student Education (MS) Gifted Endorsement

The MS degree in ESE with a Gifted Specialization is designed specifically for teachers who are already certified in an area of education and would like to work with students with special gifts and talents. Upon completion of this degree program and specialization, graduates will be eligible to receive an endorsement in Gifted Education, grades K-12.
