Psychology labs currently include 1) an electrophysiology laboratory equipped with PsyLab electrophysiological equipment designed for the gathering of event-related potential data in the study of the physiological processes associated with cognition, emotion and individual differences, 2) one lab that houses one computer and one that houses two computers, all dedicated to research (gathering subject data as well as data analysis) and 3) two clinical training laboratories utilized by graduate students in the clinical masters program and school psychology specialist programs for supervision and evaluation and are also shared by faculty and students involved in research for the purposes of gathering subject data and holding lab meetings.

In addition, psychology department facilities include a student computer lab with 5 state-of-the-art computers (upgraded Fall 2002) that are maintained by Barry University’s Department of Information Technology (DoIT). Each computer is loaded with the most current versions of Windows XP, Excel, SPSS and PowerPoint which facilitates student/faculty transfer of working files. A DoIT liaison, supported by the School of Arts and Sciences, handles most technology needs, forwarding those that require more extensive efforts to DoIt technicians. A Graduate Research Lab houses two computers dedicated to graduate research. A MARC room is also jointly maintained by Barry’s MARC grant and the Psychology Department to house MARC scholars who are psychology majors.
