Message from the Chair

Another year has rushed by and it is Newsletter time again. You will see that once again our students have accomplished a great deal this year. I’ll catch you up on faculty news.

Profs. Gerene Starratt, Joseph Perry, and Joel Rodriguez are moving to other opportunities. Dr. Kayreen Burns, who retired last year, visits us between extended trips to visit the grandchildren.

Some familiar faces will be joining us as full-time faculty. Dr. Laura Ferrer-Wreder (Barry Class of ‘93) has been on the faculty at Penn State - Capital College for several years and is coming home to Miami. She is a developmental psychologist who specializes in identity development youth problem prevention initiatives in the schools.

Dr. Guillermo Wated is an industrial/organizational psychologist. His research focuses on the impact of culture on attitudes in organizations.

Dr. Maria Lopez, Visiting Assistant Professor, will be staying on as full-time faculty beginning in January. She is a child clinical psychologist with research interests in child abuse.
