A dual degree Professional Master of Public Health/Master of Science Health Services Administration is offered through the College of Health Sciences, Division of Health Management Programs. Students simultaneously pursue two specified study programs thus obtaining a broader range of health care leadership competencies along with public health competencies. The academic completion requirements for the H.S.A. degree are listed under the “Master of Science Health Services Administration” section of the catalog. Students wishing to be considered for this option must be enrolled full-time and have maintained a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 during the first three semesters of either the HSA or MPH program, with no more than six (6) credits of C grades. The College of Health Sciences, Dean, Associate Dean and Public Health Program Director will review applications and determine student eligibility to enroll for the additional degree. Students who fail to maintain a cumulative 3.0 GPA in both health sciences administration and public health courses, and students who earn a “D” or “F” grade in any course will be dropped from the dual degree program. Under no circumstances will students on probation or in programs in excess of four years be allowed to continue with the dual degree option. Students may not contest the decision of the Dean or Associate Dean to remove a student from the dual degree program. Individuals interested in this option should contact the Health Sciences Admissions Office for additional information.
