Welcome to Barry University’s radio station, WBRY 1640 AM, broadcasting live from its campus in Miami Shores, Florida.
WBRY Radio provides a unique opportunity for students wanting to enter broadcasting to gain hands-on technical skills, marketable on-air experience and knowledge of radio broadcasting as a career.
What distinguishes WBRY 1640 AM from all other radio stations is our great diversity in the music we play. Since we have a very diverse student body, WBRY’s main purpose is to accommodate the tastes of all students and members of our community regardless of their nationality or preference in music.
Our radio station plays everything from hip-hop, R & B, Latin music, gospel, classic rock, classical music and inner city blues. Additional programming includes sports shows, talk shows, political discussion and our daily news.
The WBRY family includes students who are passionate about careers in radio broadcasting, as well as Barry University professors, who serve as hosts for issue oriented programs. And you don’t have to live in the Miami Shores area to enjoy WBRY because we are always streaming live on our website.
Open to students, alumni, staff, faculty and residents of Miami Shores, we are always looking for people who want to host their own show or gain experience in music, news, sports, marketing and advertising.
