Barry University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097: Telephone number 404-679-4501) to award bachelor's, master's, specialist, and doctoral degrees.

What Does This Mean?

The Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) is one of the six regional accrediting organizations in the United States. Universities in Florida fall under the jurisdiction of SACS.

Reading Endorsement

A portion of the Master of Science in Reading program is approved by the State of Florida for Reading Endorsement. This endorsement will allow you to be a highly-qualified teacher of Reading and be eligible to teach all reading courses. This is a 15 credit program. Reading Certification

The Master of Science in Reading program is approved by the State of Florida for Reading Certification. This means that you will be eligible for state Reading Certification and are qualified to be a Reading Specialist. This is a 30 credit program.
