Dr. Jennie Ricketts-Duncan, joined the Reading Faculty in the Adrian Dominican School of Education in 2010 as an Adjunct Instructor and in 2011 as a Visiting Professor of Education. From 2000 - 2004 she was a Lecturer in the Literacy Department at Sam Sharpe Teachers' College, Jamaica, where she taught undergraduate reading courses and served as Regional Coordinator for the Caribbean Center of Excellence (CCETT) in Literacy Education for the western division. She was an internship supervisor at Sam Sharpe Teachers' College and Barry University.

Dr. Ricketts-Duncan has 31 years K-12 experience in all areas and levels of literacy, reading and language arts education. She earned her PhD from Barry University with a specialization in Elementary Education, an MS in Educational Leadership from Central Connecticut State University, and a BA in Elementary Education from the University of the West Indies.

Dr. Ricketts-Duncan is active in local, state, and international reading organizations. She is interested in teacher leadership and practices in reading; collaborative learning, and the use of literature in the development of literacy and language art skills.
