Richard G. Maybee earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Central Michigan University in 1966, and a Master’s degree in Communication in 1971 at Central. He earned his Doctorate is in Communication and Psychology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1978.

He served as an officer in the U.S. Army Intelligence Service for two years in Vietnam from 1966 to 1968.
Dr. Maybee was a Research Associate at the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute working with drunk-driving, seatbelt use, and child restraint use statistics.

Much of Dr. Maybee’s research is related to the Myers-Briggs Type Inventory and Psychological Type. His current research interests include spiritual maturity, self-esteem, and experiential learning.

Dr. Maybee is an Assistant Professor and teaches Speech, Communication and Psychology courses in the Barry University ACE program, most in the Fort Myers-Naples area. He serves as the ACE full-time faculty at the Fort Myers location.

Dr. Maybee currently serves on experiential learning task forces and assessment councils for ACE.

He has been a member of APA, NCA, and AERA.
