Welcome from the Dean

The mission of Barry University's College of Health Sciences is to provide high-quality education in the life sciences that will enable you to become competent, thoughtful, ethical, and compassionate natural and biomedical scientists and health professionals. We accomplish this within a caring environment that is supportive of the religious dimension of the University. The school also provides biological and biomedical courses for students from other academic disciplines as part of a liberal arts education.

We want our students to think critically, to understand that there may be more than one answer to a question. We want them to be curious, to wonder, and then to find answers for themselves. This spirit of inquiry has enabled us to prepare thousands of students to find their place in the world of the life sciences. For many, the curriculum offered in the College of Health Sciences leads to opportunities in environmental fields, medicine, allied health professions, or graduate school.

The College of Health Sciences offers the very best in technical and academic training. It also goes beyond the particular emphasis of any one field and trains students to be the leaders of the 21st Century.
