Histotechnology at Barry University

The evening BS in Biology with a specialization in Histotechnology program provides intense training in histotechnology through a combination of lectures, hands-on laboratory experience and clinical internships. It is one of only three programs of its kind in the United States accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS).

Preparing You for ASCP Certification

Students graduating from the BS Biology/Histotechnology specialization are eligible to sit for the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification examination.*

Convenient Program for Working Professionals

The program is designed with the working professional in mind. Classes are held in the evenings and during the day on Saturdays so that you can continue to work while enrolled in the program.

The program can be completed in as little as two years, including the internship.

Internships

The program includes a six-month internship at clinical affiliates in Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. This internship will give you the practical, hands-on experience to prepare you for a career as a histotechnologist.

Accreditation

Barry's Histotechnology program (Specialization within BS Biology) is one of only three NAACLS-accredited Histotechnology programs in the United States.
