Donations being accepted for victims of the Nepal Earthquakes

The School of Social Work is requesting the assistance of the Barry community in raising funds for the victims of the earthquakes in Nepal.

All money raised will go to help those victims directly through the Shakti Samuha organization. This organization is led by Sunita Danuwar – an international human trafficking speaker and one of 200 women rescued in the red light district of India.

The funds are in urgent need as sex trade human traffickers are targeting tens of thousands of women, girls, and boys left homeless by the earthquakes.

If you would like to make a donation via cash or check, please contact Yvonne Alonso at the School of Social Work, Powers Hall 110, or Carolina Rios, Powers Hall 119.

Donations will be collected until Friday, May 29, 2015.
