Barry's School of Social Work highest ranked in South Florida

Barry University’s School of Social Work was ranked first in South Florida by U.S. News and World Report. Barry’s program came in at #78, tied with California State University in Long Beach, CA among others. Schools like Ohio University in Athens, OH; Univ. of North Carolina in Greensboro, NC and West Chester University of Pennsylvania were among the top programs across the country – programs that have emerged as leaders in the field.

There are more than 200 graduate schools of social work in the United States that have received accreditation from the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) and with so many schools to choose from these numbers make it easier to know how they all stack up. In an advanced social work curriculum, students take courses in social welfare policy, human behavior and ethics, balanced with hands-on experience in clinical settings. U.S. News and World Report has ranked graduate social work programs since 1993; this is a list of the top social work programs. Each school's score reflects its average rating on a scale from 1 (marginal) to 5 (outstanding), based on a survey of academics at peer institutions.
