Dr. Mitch Rosenwald, associate professor of Social Work at Barry University, recently published a new text on conflict resolution. "One Paradigm, Many Worlds: Conflict Resolution Across the Disciplines," was released this past spring by Cambridge Scholars Publishing.

The book is an interdisciplinary approach to "win-win" conflict resolution. Written for the academic and professional sector, it is intended for use across professions, and includes information on conflict resolution in the human services, education, philosophy, communication and international relations.

The premise is divided into four chapters that present the merits of collaborative conflict resolution for these disciplines, while challenging existing "win-lose" paradigms, which are reliant on power differentials or possible violence. Rosenwald's paradigm is supportive of cooperation, positive communication and relationship to self, others and society.

Rosenwald served as editor for the textbook and, after conceiving of the premise, solicited, edited and reviewed contributions. He also authored a chapter for human service professionals, based on his past experience as a professional, academic and activist in the conflict resolution and peace movement fields.

In addition to this recent work, Rosenwald has published a number of articles on foster care, group work and political ideology in social work, and is the co-author of the upcoming book, "Advocating for Children in Foster Care," which will be published by the Columbia University Press.
