Barry University Alumni Board of Directors elects new president

MIAMI, Fla. – The Barry University Alumni Board of Directors recently elected Martha Smith, ’76, as its newest president. Smith has been a member of the Alumni Board of Directors since 2011. Her term begins in September 2014 and will last one year.

Smith brings over 25 years of business experience in coaching individuals, leaders, and teams.  Smith completed her B.A. in business administration at Barry in 1976. She is managing director and founder of Remington Partners LLC, in Weston, Fla. In this role, Smith offers a series of meaningful interactions and skill assessment tools that help clients strategically manage challenges, translating goals into action and providing a framework of accountability.

Prior to founding Remington Partners, Smith built a successful career at Deluxe Corporation, a Fortune 1000 company which partners with small business and financial institutions to help them build long-lasting relationships with customers, which culminated with her promotion to national director of sales performance.

In addition to her degree from Barry, Smith received her professional coach training from the University of Miami, and is certified by the International Coaching Federation as an Associate Certified Coach. She lives in Weston, Fla. with her husband and three children.
