Jacqueline Escobar - Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship Awardee

Jacqueline Escobar was awarded the highly prestigious Benjamin A Gilman Scholarship to study abroad.  A total of 2,600 applicants applied but only 500 students were awarded.  Jacqueline will receive $4,500.00 towards her ‘China Study Abroad’ tuition and program costs. Jacqueline is a Honors Program student and will be conducting her Senior Honors Thesis research while in China.  Her research goal is to examine homelessness and poverty in China.  Dr. Singleton, Interim Associate Dean/Associate Professor, School of Social Work, will serve as her Senior Honors Thesis Advisor.
