Creating a Better Environment for Children

Ms. Elizabeth Kittay, a student in the MSW program in the Ellen Whiteside McDonnell School of Social Work, decided to utilize her artistic talent and paint a mural in the agency that she is completing her field internship. Ms. Devon Harrington, the Clinical Director of Devonear, who is also Ms. Kittay's Field Educator and mentor encouraged and supported this unique effort. Ms. Kittay stated that she "wanted to transform the room where they work with children into a bright, fun place for them while introducing the concept of difference in this world." She is planning to lend her artistic talent to other agencies that work with vulnerable populations.
