Scholarships and Discounts
The majority of the full-time students accepted into our MSW program qualify for scholarships from $7,000 to $9,000 per academic year. Part-time students may have their tuition reduced by 30% if you meet the eligibility criteria.
In fact, more than 85% of all MSW students receive a merit-based scholarship or tuition discount from the School. Barry University 's School of Social Work has one of the best scholarship programs of any graduate school of social work in the country, with more than $1.7 million in scholarships and tuition discounts awarded in each of the last three years.
Scholarships
To be eligible to receive a scholarship award, you must:

have attained a minimum of a 3.0 grade point average for your last 60 college credits,

be fully accepted to the School of Social Work, and
-
enroll full-time in the MSW program.
Applicants with a 3.85 or higher GPA in the last 60 credit-hours of their undergraduate coursework may qualify for additional scholarships. |
Other factors that are reviewed in making scholarship decisions are:

the quality of your references and
-
your work, volunteer, or internship experience in either social or human services.
No specific application is needed for the award. Amounts awarded range from $7,000 to $9,000 per academic year. Your scholarship will be renewed for the second year of the program if you maintain satisfactory academic performance. (a minimum of 3.0)
Students may also be eligible for the Florida Tuition Reduction Grant if all requirements are met, and students are required to complete an application.

Tuition Discounts for Part-time Students
You may be eligible for a 30% tuition discount if you are employed by a social or human services agency for 24 hours or more per week. The nature of your employment must reflect basic social work tasks, objectives, and goals.
To take advantage of this tuition discount, you must submit proof of employment prior to enrollment for the academic year. Proof of employment can be a letter signed by your supervisor on letterhead or stationary.
