Degree Requirements
The BS in Sociology requires the completion of
120 credit hours. These hours include 39-42 hours in the major and
78-81 hours in general education/distribution requirements and general
electives. Students must earn a minimum grade of C in all major
area courses and in MAT 152, which is the required general education
mathematics course. To assure that the major area learning goals
are achieved, the sociology curriculum is organized according to
the following themes. Students must complete the Core Courses (15
credit hours) and a minimum of at least one course from each of
the theme areas.
