Letter from the Center for Leadership and Transitions Services

Dear StART attendee,

Welcome to the Barry University community. It is our pleasure to welcome you as you embark on your journey here at Barry and for making the commitment to have a great “StART” to your college career.

Attending StART is the first step you will take to become an active and vital member of our community. By participating in StART you will have the opportunity to meet other new students, as well as returning students who serve on our StART team and who will be on hand to act as a great resource during the program and beyond. Who better to assist with your transition than students who have been in your shoes before and are great examples of what Barry has to offer?

Throughout the program, in addition to meeting students, staff, faculty, and your advisors, the program will include information sessions, meetings, and receptions. These activities will help acclimate you to Barry and provide you with the knowledge that you have made the right decision in becoming a Barry University student. This summer, there will be four StART programs, two programs in June, and two programs in August prior to the start of Fall Orientation and the start of the fall semester. The2009 StART programs are:

StART I – June 22-23 (Freshmen only)
StART II – June 25-26 (Freshmen only)
StART III – August 25 (Freshmen only)
StART IV – August 26 (Transfer and International Students only)

 All new students and their families are encouraged to attend one of these programs. Please use this website to reserve your spot in StART.
