How to Support Your Student
Starting life in college is always a challenge. New school, new friends, new teachers, and new experiences all create a challenging and exciting set of life experiences for a first-year student. The faculty and staff at Barry recognize these challenges and continue working to support first-year students.
Family members are encouraged to participate in our StART programs. During StART I and II, we offer a unique program designed to be informative and supportive to you as a family member since the transition to college is not just something our students go through. Our program provides family members to learn more from various offices and services on campus and techniques that can be helpful in supporting students during their first-year here at Barry.
We also offer a website for family members that is meant to be a resource of the most up-to-date information about services and resources throughout the University. The website is www.barry.edu/families and it can be accessed on the main page for the University, www.barry.edu.
Throughout the summer, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the Center for Leadership and Transition Services at 305-899-3992 or families@mail.barry.edu. |
