FYE Buccaneer Passport Experience Program

Your journey through Barry University begins here! The FYE Buccaneer Passport Experience Program is designed for all New Buccaneers like to you to assist you in your navigation through the first eight weeks of your college experience. This passport outlines the programs, events, and services, provided by various University Departments. The passport program events start now and continue until October 24, 2014. Whenever you participate in an event, you will receive a “stamp” (sticker) in your passport. Those who have collected the most stamps in their passport are eligible to be a Grand Prize Winner.

Passport Program Q&A

What do I have to do?

There are 18 different departments or areas of programming. You must attend 1-2 programs in each area. When you attend the program you will be given a stamp. Keep in mind that some programs are mandatory for all Freshmen including Freshmen Experience Day, New Student Investiture, The Hook up: When it’s Hot and When it’s Not", and Sex & Excess- Surviving the party. All other programs are highly recommended because they will help you in your transition to college life, both inside and outside of the classroom environment.

What is the deadline to hand in the passport?

Passports must be returned to the Center of Student Involvement, Landon Student Union, Suite 202, on October 24th by 4:30pm. In order to be eligible for a Grand Prize you must turn in your passport with the completed email survey. Passports handed in after the deadline will not be eligible.

What is a stamp or a sticker?

When you attend a passport event, attendance will be taken and you will receive a passport stamp. You will receive a sticker which you must stick on the designated program page. The more programs you attend the more stamps or stickers you will acquire. The students that attend the most programs and have the most stamps will be entered in a drawing for Grand Prize Packages.

What is in it for me?

The Grand Prize Winner will receive a prize package including new iPad mini and the second place winner will receive a prize package including a Kindle Fire HD (sponsored by New Student Orientation) and dining dollars sponsored by Chartwells. The more programs you attend will increase your chances of receiving give-a-ways and prizes at various passport events.
