Dining Services

Barry University Dining Services offers a variety of dining choices for students and visitors to the Miami Shores campus.   There are a variety of restaurants to choose from, all conveniently located within walking distance of on-campus housing, labs/classrooms and many off-campus apartments.
Dining on campus provides the social experience essential to campus life. It gives the opportunity to gather with friends, take study breaks, hang out, relax and unwind after a hard day of classes and activities.

Meal Plans

  • Barry University has several meal plans from which to choose.  Each meal plan includes a set number of meals and Dining Dollars and a meal exchange option for all meal plans except Roussell Unlimited, Holly House DCB $750 and the Commuter 25 (see “How to successfully navigate your dining meal plan”).

As a resident student at Barry University, a meal plan for the semester is included in the cost of your housing fee.  All resident students are required to choose from one of the following meal plan options.

Roussell Unlimited + $50 Dining Dollars
This best-value plan is created for first year students, athletes, and those looking for the ultimate convenience and flexibility in resident dining. Residents on this plan will enjoy unlimited access during all operating hours to the exciting variety of freshly prepared culinary choices offered at Roussell Dining Hall. In addition this plan offers $50 in dining dollars per semester.

Choice 19 + $100 Dining Dollars
This more traditional meal plan option provides residents 19 opportunities to dine in Roussell each week, $100 in dining dollars per semester, and the meal exchange option.

Choice 14 + $150 Dining Dollars
This balanced meal plan option allows residents 14 opportunities to dine in Roussell each week plus $150 in dining dollars per semester, and the meal exchange option.

Choice 10 + $250 Dining Dollars
Perfect for the student on the go offering the versatility of any 10 meals per week in Roussell Dining Hall paired with $250 in dining dollars per semester, and the meal exchange option.

Select 7 + $375 Dining Dollars
Benefit from the flexibility of using $375 in dining dollars at for the semester, plus enjoy any 7 meals per week in Roussell Dining Hall and the meal exchange option.

Select 5 + $450 Dining Dollars
Maximize your options with $450 in dining dollars for use throughout the semester and enjoy any 5 meals per week in Roussell Dining Hall and the meal exchange option.

Holly House Meal Plans

These meal plans are optional for those students residing in the Holly House apartments and carry an additional cost to the housing fee.

Holly House 175 + $250 Dining Dollars – $1250/semester
Combine the independence of off-campus housing with the convenience, flexibility, and value of on-campus dining. This plan provides Holly House residents with 175 opportunities to enjoy meals in Roussell Dining Hall during the semester, $250 in dining dollars for use throughout the semester plus use of the meal exchange option.

Holly House 100 + $150 Dining Dollars – $800/semester
Supplement apartment-style living with a “hassle-free, no cooking required”  option of 100 meals in Roussell Dining Hall along with $150 in dining dollars both available for the entire semester, plus use of the meal exchange option.

Holly House $750 DCB – $750/semester
Dine as you desire with a declining balance plan that can be used at Roussell Dining Hall, Buc Stop, WOW, Sandella’s or C-Store locations.

Commuter Student Meal Plans

Meal plans are also available for Commuter students. Commuter meal plans offer convenience, value and flexibility.  Commuter Meal Plans can be purchased by cash, check or credit card in the Cashier Business Office (CBO) in Farrell Building, Room 110.  A representative there can also assist you in obtaining a Commuter Meal Plan using excess financial aid, scholarship or loans.
Commuter 50 + $150 Dining Dollars – $500
Created for the off-campus student looking for the ultimate convenience, flexibility and value, this plan includes 50 opportunities to enjoy meals in Roussell Dining Hall, $150 in dining dollars for use throughout the semester, plus use of the meal exchange option.

Commuter 35 + $100 Dining Dollars – $350
Easy, convenient, and budget-friendly, this plan includes 35 opportunities to enjoy meals in Roussell Dining Hall, $100 in dining dollars for use during the semester, plus use of the meal exchange option.

Commuter 25 – $180
Save time and money, this plan allows commuter students the ability to dine on campus with 25 any time meals in Roussell Dining Hall.

How to successfully navigate your dining meal plan

  • Your student ID (meal card) is required at each meal attended.
  • You are the only one who may use your meal card.
  • Meal plan weeks, for Resident Meal Plans only, begin Friday morning and end Thursday night.  Unused meals do not carry over from week to week.
  • Meal plan selections cannot be changed during a semester.
  • Meal plans expire at the end of each semester.
  • Dining dollars are redeemable in Roussell Dining Hall, Buc Stop, WOW, Sandella’s, and C-store locations.
  • Meal exchanges are available with all meal plans except the Roussell Unlimited, Holly House DCB $750 and the Commuter 25.
  • Meal exchanges are equal to $5.50 retail value or designated bundle meal and limited to one per meal period. Balances exceeding $5.50 can be paid with cash, credit/debit, dining dollars, or flex bucs.
  • Meal exchanges are not accepted at the C-store location.
  • Meal exchanges are redeemable at Buc Stop, WOW Café and Wingery, and Sandella’s during all business operating hours.

Roussell Dining Hall: (R. Kirk Landon Student Union, 2nd Floor)
Roussell Dining Hall is an all you care to eat facility featuring a wide variety of fresh food designed to satisfy anyone's appetite.

This facility serves resident students commuter students and faculty/ staff who are on meal plans. It is also open to all students, faculty, staff and guests of the University. Purchases can be made using cash, credit /debit card, Dining Dollars or Flex Bucs. Full-service meals are served seven days per week.

WORLD OF WINGS (WOW) Café & Wingery: (R. Kirk Landon Student Union, 1st Floor)
A casual dining restaurant featuring wings, wraps, salads, burgers, quesadillas, and chicken tenders.
This facility serves resident and commuter students, plus faculty, staff and guests of the University. Purchases can be made with cash, credit/debit card, Dining Dollars or Flex Bucs.

Friday:11:00 am - 1:00 am
Saturday: 3:00 pm - 1:00 am

Buc Stop Café: (Thompson Hall, 1st Floor)
The Buc Stop Café is a popular stop providing delicious grill favorites, quality pre-packaged foods as well as hot and cold beverages. This location also features a Starbucks, Einstein Bros. Bagels, Buc Deli with Boar’s Head meats and Edy's Ice Cream.

This facility serves resident and commuter students, plus faculty, staff and guests of the University.  Purchases can be made with cash, credit/debit card, Dining Dollars or Flex Bucs.

Sandella’s Flatbread Café: (SE corner of Dominican Hall)
Sandella's is a casual dining facility serving the most popular grilled flatbreads, sandwiches, paninis, quesadillas, & salads – all made using a delicious, brick oven flatbread. Adjacent to the café is a C-store with a wide variety of food products and grab-and-go items.

This facility serves resident and commuter students, plus faculty, staff and guests of the University.  Purchases can be made with cash, credit/debit card, Dining Dollars or Flex Bucs.

Sandella’s C-Store: (SE corner of Dominican Hall)

Le Cafe International
Le Cafe International provides a selection of grab-and-go items, Espresso coffees, baked goods, smoothies, sandwiches, and some salads.

There are two locations to serve students, faculty, staff and guests. Purchases can be made using cash, credit/debit card or Flex Bucs (at the Garner location only).
Wiegand Lobby
Monday – Friday           7:30 am – 5:00 pm

Southwest corner outside Garner
Monday – Friday           7:30 am – 7:30 pm

Flex Bucs Account

The Flex Bucs account is used as a declining balance account for all debit functions on campus. At this time the ID card handles the following debit functions:

    • Sandella’s Flatbread Café & C-Store
    • Le Café International (Garner location only)
  • Business Center

Payments of cash, check or credit card to the Flex Bucs account are made at the office of Cashiers/Business Office, Farrell Hall, Room 110 (Andreas 112 during arena registration) or the Frank J. Rooney Bldg. for PACE students. Requests for billing against excess Financial Aid, loans or scholarship monies to your university account are done at the same office. Refunds of Flex Bucs money begins with a request made at the Office of the Student Union located in Landon Student Union.
