DADE CITY, Fla. -- Barry University's men's golf team shot 283 in the rain-shortened Saint Leo Invitational Monday, and is tied for sixth place.
The No. 1-ranked Buccaneers trail leader North Alabama by 10 strokes for the lead. The tournament will be reduced to 36 holes, with 18 to be played Tuesday on Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club's 7,137-yard course.
Lynn is a stroke back of the lead after shooting 274, while Columbus State and South Carolina-Aiken are tied for third at 276. Host Saint Leo is fifth at 281. Florida Southern also shot 283, and are tied with Bucs entering Tuesday's final round.
Barry's Nico Cavero shot a 3-under 69 and is tied for 14th. Mike Anderson shot 70, and is tied for 17th. Berry Jole is tied for 26th at 1-under 71. Mario Beltran is 1-over. Eirik Groenhaug shot 76. Juan Yumar, playing as an individual in his first collegiate tournament, shot 75.
South Carolina-Aiken's Brandon Robinson-Thompson is the clubhouse leader after shooting an 8-under 64. North Alabama's Forrest Knight, Columbus State's Robert Mize, Saint Leo's Joey Savoie and Lynn's Elliott Whitley are all tied for second at 6-under 66.
Yumar had an eagle on the par-5, 534-yard ninth hole. He also had a birdie. Cavero had five birdies. Jole had four, Anderson three, Groenhaug had two and Beltran one.
