ADSOE programs selected to join Carnegie Project on Education Doctorate

The Adrian Dominican School of Education’s (ADSOE) Ed.D. Organizational Learning and Leadership (OLL) programs have been selected to join the Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate (CPED). New members were chosen through a detailed application process and evaluated by a CPED committee.

CPED is a consortium of over 100 graduate schools of education that have committed resources to work together to undertake a critical examination of the doctorate in education (EdD) through dialog, experimentation, critical feedback and evaluation. The vision of the CPED is to inspire all schools of education to apply the CPED framework to the preparation of educational leaders to become well-equipped scholarly practitioners who provide stewardship of the profession and meet the educational challenges of the 21st century.

“We are very excited about Barry University being selected to join the CPED consortium. Being part of CPED not only memorializes the rigor and overall quality of ADSOE’s Ed.D. programs, but also gives us another venue to demonstrate our commitment to operationalizing and leading best practices in the field,” said David M. Kopp, Ph.D., associate dean.

Team leaders for the project are Jean McAtavey, Ph.D., program director of OLL — HRD and program principal investigator for CPED, and Vivian Posey, Ed.D., program director of OLL — Educational Leadership. The division is under the direction of Kopp and ADSOE Dean Jill Farrell, Ed.D.
