David Kopp named Associate Vice Provost for Extended Learning at Barry University

MIAMI [Oct. 1, 2019] — Dr. David Kopp has been named associate vice provost for extended learning at Barry University. Kopp, who formerly served as professor and associate dean in Barry’s Adrian Dominican School of Education, assumed his new role Oct. 1.

The associate vice provost for extended learning is responsible for the operational oversite and strategic development of Barry’s academic activities that operate beyond the main campus. Oversite includes distance education, continuing education, and site management of all physical sites formerly associated exclusively with the School of Professional and Career Education (Jacksonville, Pembroke Pines, Melbourne, Orlando, Palm Beach, Kendall, and Cutler Bay).

Kopp will work collaboratively with the vice provost, associate vice provost for student success, deans of the colleges/schools, recruitment and admissions, and marketing to ensure that Barry’s extended activities are fiscally and operationally efficient, profitable, compliant, and operate consistently with the University’s mission and strategic vision.

“I am both honored and excited to begin this new role,” Kopp said. “I look forward to working with my new team to ensure that Barry University’s extended learning initiatives and programs remain second to none in delivering the best educational experience.”

Kopp brings to this position a wealth of experience as a faculty member, program director, and associate dean. He has a bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of Louisville, a master’s in business administration from the University of Orlando, and a doctorate in human resource development from Barry University.
