Meet the Staff
Larry Perez serves as the Director of the Office of Student Life. Larry supervises all areas involving Student Life which include: Greek and Commuter Affairs, Student Clubs and Organizations, student Marketing, and the Student Government Association. Larry received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Illinois and a Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration/Counseling from The University of San Diego. Larry has served in multiple Higher Educational leadership roles throughout the United States including Academic Advising, Private Consulting, Housing and Residence Life, Teaching and Student Involvement. Larry started at Barry University in 2016.
Savrae (Sav) Garnett serves as Barry’s new Coordinator of Student Clubs and Organizations. Sav, originally from Paterson, NJ, received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Leadership Development from Montclair State University in Montclair, NJ. She then traveled to the state of Maryland where she received her Master’s in Post-Secondary Education from Salisbury University in Salisbury, MD. Sav enjoys helping students to reach their fullest potential and always reminds them to never settle for less.
Clarence A. Jones (CJ) Coordinator of Student Events & Activities at Barry University Graduate of Bethune Cookman University, Born and raised in the beautiful city of Miami, FL who passion for higher education and student involvement excels life itself. As a recent high school educator teaching theatre performance and television production, my passion of engaging and enhancing the visual and physical experience of students is truly what drives me.
Kamilah Van serves as the Graduate Assistant of Student Life. She was born in San Diego, CA and raised in Miami, FL. Her role will include advising the Student Organization Council, working closely with the Student Government Association, and Co-Advising the All Greek Council. Kamilah received her Bachelor’s Degree from Florida Gulf Coast University and is pursuing a Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration. Her vision for her position is to create an inclusive and involved community in an effort to develop leaders who will learn, lead, and leave a lasting legacy on the campus of Barry University.
