Greek Life Welcome Back Barbeque

Greek Life, the Office of Student Activities, Athletics, Campus Recreation, and Alumni Relations annually presents a Welcome Back Barbeque. It is designed to welcome all students, promote the Greek organizations, introduce athletic teams, and encourage socialization with new and old fellow students over some delicious hamburgers and hotdogs!

Welcome Back Dance

The Campus Activities Board (C.A.B.) sponsors a welcome back dance. A DJ, beverages, drinks and disco lights create the perfect environment for this club atmosphere! It is one of the most popular and crowded events of the year. Get ready to dance and meet people. There is a small fee to participate.

Labor Day Pool Party

Bring your beach chair, towel and lots of sun screen and enjoy the biggest pool party of the year at the Penefort Pool. The Campus Activities Board (C.A.B.) sponsors this traditional event that attracts hundreds of students and includes free food, drinks, contests, giveaways and live entertainment.

Student Organization Fair

Get Involved! Show Some Spirit! Join A Student Group!

While academics will be a major focus of your college experience, a complete education cannot be limited to the walls of a classroom. Therefore, the Student Organization Council and the Office of Student Activities sponsors the annual Student Organization Fair.

The Fall Student Organization Fair is a two-day annual event that allows students an opportunity to meet and greet fellow students and share information about student organizations offered at Barry University. So join an organization and develop some leadership qualities. Don’t miss this opportunity to get involved!

Comedy Night

The Campus Activities Board (C.A.B.) presents a Comedy Night. Prepare for an evening of improvisation comedy -- funny sketches invented on the spot, based on audience suggestions. It's a clean, family show that invites you to think as well as laugh. There is a small fee for this event

Monday Night Football Extravaganza

Are you ready for some FOOTBALL? Join Campus Recreation and the Interfraternity Council for Monday Night Football. Get together with some friends, grab a table, eat some free food and watch some American Football. Win prizes for answering trivia questions during commercials.

CAB's Drive In Movie

Haven’t been to a Drive In in a while? Here’s your chance!! Pull up with your own lawn chair and beach blanket to join the Campus Activity Board for a Drive In Movie out on the lawn by the Penafort Pool!! Snacks and drinks are provided!!!

Barry's Moonlight Madness

Moonlight Madness is your chance to join other fans and students and meet both the men's and women's basketball teams, while also enjoying a night of great food and fun filled entertainment.

The fans enjoy great performances from Barry's cheerleading squad and dance team in addition to the flying acrobatics of the Miami Heat Xtreme Team.

Thanks to the support of Student Activities, Intercollegiate Athletics, Barry Alumni, and Campus Recreation, there are many activities and prizes for everyone to participate in and walk away winners. Try your luck at the $10,000 Buzzer Beater.

Pumpkin Carving Contest

Be creative with Campus Activities Board (C.A.B.) by participating in the Halloween Pumpkin Carving Contest. It is an afternoon of fun listening to spooky music, eating Halloween cookies and watching students carve pumpkins. Prizes are given for most creative, scariest and best overall pumpkins.

Halloween Dance

Come get freaky with Campus Activities Board (C.A.B.) at its annual Halloween Dance. Enjoy the live music, giveaways and costumes contest with prizes for the best couple, scariest, most creative, best overall and group. There is a minimal fee for this event.

Founders’ Day Festival

The Campus Activities Board (C.A.B.) sponsors this traditional annual event. It is a celebration of the founding of Barry University. Participate in the most competitive event of the year, the Bed Races! Several departments and student organizations compete against one another for the prestige and honor of winning first place. Enjoy the live music, food, novelties (airbrush tattoos, wax hands), games and best of all free prizes! Don't miss your chance to join in the fun and win the title for the Bed Races! This event takes place in the mall (back of the chapel) best of all this is a FREE event.

Barry Beauties

Take part in one of Barry's longest running traditional events "Barry Beauties". Sponsored by the Campus Activities Board (C.A.B.) and featured as an evening of comedy, watch some of Barry's macho men perform in the ultimate beauty contest. That's right, "men" participate in this event for cash prizes and the opportunity to be crowned the elite Barry Beauty. A professional comedian hosts the event and the contestants perform in an evening gown, swimsuit, and talent competition.

Make Your Own Music Videos - "Fun Flicks"

Thanks to the Campus Activities Board (C.A.B.) you can become that super star…that legend in your own mind, absolutely free. Totally Interactive Videos, appears at least once a year on campus in Landon Student Union when you can make a lip-sync “MTV-STYLE” music video. You can fly like superman, water ski like a pro, walk in space, be a rock star, ride a motorcycle and much more. The finished tape will be yours to keep, a treasure forever. Don’t miss this great opportunity to participate or just see the movie magic happen!

Performing Arts

The Campus Activities Board (C.A.B.) plans regularly scheduled trips to the local performing arts theaters as well as helping to promote the Barry University student theatre performances that are held on campus in the Shepard & Ruth Broad Auditorium. South Florida always has some of the best performing arts entertainment to offer students. Featured theatre attractions include Broadway musicals, drama, modern dance and ballet, pop concerts and comedy. There is usually a small cost included in these events and limited space is available.

Dine Like a Diplomat

The Office of Student Activities' Leadership Development program along with the Career Center and the Andreas School of Business hosts "Dine Like a Diplomat" annually. Enjoy a large four course meal for a small fee. Learn proper dinner etiquette and prepare for the world of work. This is an excellent program and all Barry students are encouraged to participate.

Homecoming

The Office of Student Activities would like to invite all students to Homecoming weekend. Join the fun as faculty, staff, students and alumni enjoy a fabulous barbeque and live entertainment. Later that day, show your spirit and cheer on the Barry basketball teams. Following the basketball games, join the Student Government Association and Campus Activities Board at the very popular FebFest in Landon Plaza. Singled Out

Twenty-five single guys, twenty-five single ladies get together to party! Come join Alpha Phi Sorority in the Landon Student Union Sports Grill to see someone get singled out. There is a small fee for admission and registration fee for contestants. All proceeds will be donated to the Alpha Phi Foundation for Cardiac Care.

Valentine’s Day Pictures

Celebrate Valentine's Day by taking pictures with your honey or with your friends! Thanks to the Campus Activities Board (C.A.B.) you can have a memorable picture taken. The Valentine's Day pictures can be a great gift for family or friends. It is also the perfect gift for your partner or a chance to meet someone special! Don't miss out on this opportunity and join us in Landon Atrium!

Greek Week

Greek Week is a week filled with fun activities, live music, a softball game, a barbecue, karaoke and a chance for you to meet the sororities and fraternities on campus. There is something different to do every day of the week. Keep your eyes and ears open for the schedule of events! Don't miss this opportunity to meet the Greeks or become one yourself!

Splash Bash Pool Party

This new event will be held at the Penafort Pool. Bring your friends and get ready to meet people. Enjoy the warm weather along side free food, beverages and music. One Hit Wonder – CD Booth

The Campus Activities Board is proud to present for the first time ever on Barry’s campus the “One Hit Wonder” – CD Booth. A recording booth for the new millennium. Just pick a song and enter the booth. We burn real-time CD s with a digital picture superimposed on the jewel case. Each student receives a professionally re-mastered CD. Don’t miss this once in a life time opportunity to become super star singer.

Senior Salute

The Campus Activities Board would like to invite all seniors, faculty, staff, family and friends to the annual Senior Salute celebration. Celebrate an evening of entertainment and say farewell to all graduating seniors. The evening will include free food, live music and a video slide show of the graduating seniors and their friends during their college experience at Barry University.
