Monsignor William Barry Memorial Library provides materials and services in support of the educational and cultural objectives of the university. The library is opened over 100 hours a week; hours are posted on the library web page, posted in the library, and available by telephone (305) 899-3760. The library hours are extended during final exam week and will change for semester breaks and holidays.

The Library has over 970,000 items; these include books, videos, microforms, and CD’s. Online reference materials, databases with full text articles such as Academic Search Premier,  ABI/INFORM Global, ERIC, CINAHL, Medline, ATLA Religion, as well as many online journals with full-text availability, are available on-campus as well as remotely from a personal computers.

Videos, CD’s and DVD’s may be checked out for up to 3 days. The loan period for books for undergraduate students is three weeks; for graduate students, six weeks.  Materials can be renewed and fines are incurred for failure to return any material on time.

Assistance with specific research assignments is available to all students at the reference desk, by email and by telephone. The reference desk is staffed over 80 hours a week by professional librarians.  Reserve material may be found and checked out in the reserve room, located in room 206 of the library. Reserve material may be used in-house or checked out overnight depending on how the faculty has requested the material to be used. Materials not found in the library may be obtained through interlibrary loan. 

There are 30 reference computers with Internet access for student’s use in the library; the library is wireless. There are 22 more computers with Internet, as well as Microsoft Office Suite, access in the computer lab in the library(Library 205); photocopiers may be found near the bound and microform journals and in the reserve room.  Study rooms are provided for group study, students must present their ID cards at the circulation desk to use them.
