Welcome to Barry University’s Theology and Philosophy Programs!

The complementary but distinct disciplines of theology and philosophy can aid in your search for truth and meaning. They enable you to examine where you stand in relationship to the world, other human beings, and social constructs. They help you better understand concepts of God and the transcendent. They assist as you strive to incorporate your relationship with God into your everyday life.

You will be guided in your studies by a faculty  committed to discovering the relationship between the disciplines of theology, philosophy, and transformative action, especially as found in a Roman Catholic setting that follows the traditions of St. Dominic.

We invite you to explore our undergraduate programs in philosophy and theology as well as our graduate programs in theology and ministry. Barry’s master's degrees can prepare you for academic and pastoral ministry. Our Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) program helps experienced ministers integrate new academic understandings and pastoral skills into current or new leadership roles. In addition, Barry’s Institute for Hispanic/Latino Theology and Ministry provides you with the background you need to be part of the growing dialogue with the cultural and theological world of the Latinos(as).

We hope you will consider joining us!
