NEW BOOK on HIV/AID Pandemic Edited by Barry Faculty
This text, Calling for Justice throughout the World: Catholic Women Theologians Considering the Moral Ramifications of the HIV/AIDS Pandemic, is being edited by Mary Jo Iozzio, Professor of Moral Theology, Barry University, with Elsie Maria Miranda, Assistant Professor of Practical Theology, Barry University, and Mary Doyle Roche, Assistant Professor, College of the Holy Cross.
This collection of essays offers a critical call and reminder of the work for justice for people worldwide who suffer the pandemic –both persons who are infected and those affected by the disease. The essays will present data and strategies for changing structures that influence infection, prevention, or treatment programs and supportive care. The collection of 29 essays includes contributions by Catholic women ethicists from Africa, Oceania, Europe, North America, South America and Asia, bringing the global proportions of the pandemic to the fore.
The collection will be published by the Continuum International Publishing Group, Inc., with an expected release in 2008.
