Rev. Lambrecht will present " Following Christ: Markan Spirituality Today "

Professor Doctor Jan Lambrecht, SJ, received his SSD degree from the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome in 1956.

Rev. Lambrecht is professor and dean emeritus of the Katholieke Universiteit te Leuven (Catholic University of Louvain), Belgium , and has served on the Pontifical Biblical Commission from 1985-1995.

One of his most widespread works is his book on the parables of Jesus, first published in Dutch in 1976 and in English (in India) in 1978, which appeared in the U.S. in 1981 as Once More Astonished: The Parables of Jesus with a foreword by Raymond Brown and subsequently was translated into Italian and French.

Rev. Lambrecht's other books in English include The Sermon on the Mount (1985), New and Old out of the Treasure: Parables in the Gospel of Matthew (1992), Pauline Studies (1994), Collected Studies on Pauline Literature and on The Book of Revelation (2001), and Understanding What One Reads: New Testament Essays (2003), the last edited by his former student Dr. Veronica Koperski of Barry University. His writings have appeared in original or in translation in Dutch, German, English, and French, and have also been translated into Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Polish, and Chinese.
