Mar 22, 2010
MIAMI SHORES, FL – The Barry University’s Event and Facility Management class along with the Sport Management Association will host its second annual Make-A-Wish Madness fundraising event on Friday March 26, 2010 from 8 to 11 p.m.
Make-A-Wish Madness is a charity raffle and silent auction benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation®. The raffles and silent auctions will be held in order to raise money to grant the wish of two children with terminal illnesses The event will take place in the Landon Grill on the Campus of Barry University in Miami Shores. Make-A-Wish Madness will feature a DJ as well as live music, food, drinks, games and much more.
The money raised from the event will help 13 year old Bridgette from Miami Springs, who suffers from Ewing’s Sarcoma which is a form of cancer. She loves to paint and wishes to go on a shopping spree. Daniel is four years old boy from Miami, suffering from leukemia. He loves “Spongebob Squarepants,” playing with cars, and the color blue. Daniel’s wish is to go to Walt Disney World and hopefully meet the Power Rangers.
Last year Make-A-Wish Madness raised $10,000 and was able to grant the wishes of two different children in the area. All benefits go to the South Florida chapter and will continue to grant the wishes of local children.
Since 1980, the Make-A-Wish Foundation® has enhanced the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions by granting wishes through its wish-granting work. The Foundation’s mission reflects the life-changing impact the Make-A-Wish® experience has on children, families, referral sources, donors, sponsors and entire communities.
