More than 800 students and family members to attend Barry University's New Student Orientations

Miami Shores, Fla. – On Wednesday, June 22, Barry University will welcome more than 300 students and their families to its Miami Shores campus as Barry kicks off the first of three New Student Orientations that will take place this summer. More than 100 family members and guests are expected to accompany new students for the three-day orientation, which will take place June 22 through June 24.
All students, family members and guests are invited to stay in Barry’s student dormitories for the full three days to experience student life on Barry’s campus first-hand. Incoming students will be assigned rooms with other incoming students and guests will be paired with other guests. More than 400 students, family members and guests are expected to stay on campus for Orientation I.
Orientation I will feature three days of fun-filled events designed to introduce and acclimate incoming students and their families to Barry’s campus, its various schools, departments and staff members. Featured events include a “Speed Meeting,” Community Vendor Fair, Student Affairs Game Show and Miami bus tours. Suggested events for media coverage are listed below. Please note that there are separate schedules for freshmen students, transfer students, international students and parents/family members.
Orientation 1 will host more than 200 incoming freshmen students, nearly 90 incoming transfer students and about 100 family members and guests. Orientation II, which will take place June 27 through June 29, will host nearly 200 incoming freshmen, about 80 transfer students and an expected 100 family members and guests. Orientation III, which will take place August 24 through August 26, will host nearly 40 international students, as well as their family members and guests. Barry is expected to enroll more than 1,000 new students for the fall 2011 semester.
