Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine students earn Dr. Herbert Feinberg Memorial ScholarshipNov 21, 2011
Contact: Gladys Amador 305-899-4919 Miami Shores, Fla. – Barry University’s School of Podiatric Medicine awards two students with the Dr. Herbert Feinberg Memorial Scholarship. For their academic merit, Noelis Rosario and Hani Badahdah will each receive a $1,000 scholarship credited to their student account to defray the cost of tuition. Both students achieved the highest grade point average in their class of 2013. Rosario hails from San Juan, Puerto Rico. She serves as the Vice President of the Class of 2013. She is active in several podiatric student organizations and community service activities in the greater Miami area. At the present time the class of 2013 is starting their clinical studies and Rosario is at North Shore Medical Center in Miami on a four-week anesthesiology rotation. Badahdah is from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He serves as the President of the Class of 2013. At the recent Barry University Rite of Passage ceremony, where the junior class received their white coats, he addressed to the students and 400 family members attending with a speech on the first two years of didactic study. As a class leader, he recently organized the annual residency fair at Barry, where 41 residency programs from across the nation came to represent their programs and provide the students with crucial information which helped them to select their residency upon their graduation. The Dr. Herbert Feinberg Memorial Scholarship was established in 1987 by the family of Dr. Herbert Feinberg, one of the original members of the Executive Advisory Council Podiatric Medicine Program that spearheaded the founding of the Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine. As a leader, Dr. Feinberg was the president of the Florida Podiatric Association, a delegate in the National Podiatric Association for many years as well as the editor of the Footprints Journal for more than 20 years. Dr. Feinberg was a pioneer in his field. His legacy is perpetuated through this scholarship.
