MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—As final exam preparations sweep across college campus nationwide, Barry University faculty and staff will demonstrate their commitment to the student body by hosting a free late-night breakfast for students tonight, Monday, Dec. 12 from 9:30 p.m. -11:00 p.m.

The event, co-hosted by Barry’s Division of Student Involvement and Engagement and Sodexo Dining Services, is meant to give students a break from their last-minute cram sessions while relaxing, and enjoying some heart-warming and nutritional food.

“This is a great way for us to give something back to our students as they begin their final exams,” Brett Klein, director of student involvement and engagement, said. “This is a great way for us to demonstrate to our students Barry’s core commitments in action: Learn, Reflect, Serve.”

A number of notable faculty and staff will be on hand to serve the students including Dr. Scott Smith, vice president of student affairs, Dr. Maria Alvarez, dean of students, and Dr. Michael Griffin, vice president for business development and operations.

The breakfast-themed menu is a nod to the idea that students will be up all night studying for final exams. The menu will include standard breakfast items such as pancakes, waffles, eggs, sausage, and home fries along with some non-standard items such as a bagel bar, smoothie bar, and candy-bar bar. And of course, plenty of coffee will be on hand.

In addition to the meal, the event will feature a raffle and giveaways. Students will have a chance to win $200 in a trivia-based game show with pop-culture questions.

Barry’s final exam week runs from Monday through Friday, Dec. 16 with the school’s commencement taking place on Saturday at the James L. Knight Center with ceremonies at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
