The first library, a temporary one, was located above the lounge in Angelicus (Adrian Hall). The rotunda was the setting for speakers, receptions, faculty meetings, formal teas and a dance or two in the early days. The room was equipped with a silver tea set often used to serve important visitors, such as Margaret Brady Farrell or Mabel Kelley, the St. Patrick's Women's Club or University of Miami faculty members.
